Kristie Lu Stout (born December 7, 1974) is an American journalist and news anchor for CNN International. She hosts the daily news show News Stream, which emphasizes news being connected with technology. She is of Chinese and European origin.[1]
Stout graduated from Lynbrook High School in San Jose, California, where she was a founding member of the Lynbrook Speech and Debate Club, and worked as a model in her teens.[2] She received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in media studies from Stanford University, and studied advanced Mandarin Chinese at Tsinghua University in Beijing.[3]
She hosted the daily World Report which earned her a 2006 Asian Television Award as Best News Presenter or Anchor when it was still called CNN Today.[4] She occasionally also hosts the talk show Talk Asia. She previously hosted CNN's technology program Spark, their daily "Tech Watch" segment, and the monthly program Global Office. She also used to write the "Beijing Byte" column for the South China Morning Post, was an editorial staffer at Wired.com[3] and a founding member of Sohu.
Stout, who lives in Hong Kong, is married to attorney Seung Chong[2] and has a daughter named Arabella.[5]
